Just make the GH have 2 districts, one PvE and one PvP. I can't see that being too much of a coding nightmare.

Districts are designed to be the exact same in the code, so I'm guessing the district idea won't go to well. The HM button would work though, or just making an error message pop up when you try to go into GvG with a hero.

Too bad you can't add heroes to your party anymore in GH , it was nice to change their skills and armor there.

Got to say some of the henchman look pretty badass, especially Kah Xan [Assassin Henchman] OMG i wish my assassin looked that way!!! plz make that armor buyable Anet!!!

Aside from the pvp NPCs, I don't think this update was needed at all.

Still waiting for permasins to die.

Thumbs down +1 Unhappy About Hero Banishment

I've only been playing Guild Wars since Feb. 2009, but quickly fell in love and have been playing somewhat obsessively ever since. I have all the campaigns and have already done the vault-slot and character-slot upgrades several times over.

Although I just skim the forums sporadically, I felt compelled to register to add my "me too" voice to those who are annoyed by no longer being able to party with heroes in Guild Halls. I'm usually kind of excited when there's an update, and have been very pleased with a lot of the changes that have been implemented during my short playing history (Zaishen Menagerie? GENIUS!). But this "hero exile" has already caused immense frustration to myself and those I've talked to about it.

No matter if you're PvE or PvP, I think most players agree that the Guild Hall is "home base." You meet up, you party, you build skill-bars, you buy, sell, and organize. Heroes are a huge part of that. I hope this change is indeed re-examined and quickly rectified to the satisfaction of all players.

i just wonder what was anet thinking when they chose ling curse hench with snares, or mind blast with make haste? how the hell are u supposed to tell the hero to go and snare that team or not and to put his wards on the right place, or how are u supposed to tell the ele to make haste right when you pick up the relic and make haste the guy with the relic not some other random person ...

They have something even closer than that already, Tihark Orchard.

And BTW, "hard-coded" is the wrong word, but it's close enough for non-tech-speak . I think what she means is that the code handling that is buried deep enough (and probably written by people no longer at ANet) so that the current devs would take a long time to get in there and tweak it correctly. But it's hard to believe that a simple band-aid fix wouldn't actually work.

I think the next update should allow you to edit heroes in GH, but as soon as you zone to HA, the heroes will be automatically removed.
Because of course they had to do it half-assedly by tweaking some flag in the code and disable the whole thing, instead of implementing some new check and letting PvErs play around with their heroes IN THEIR OWN F**KING GUILD HALL. Damn, does stuff like this ever make me mad...

I am greatly offended by the presence of NPCs with retarded scrubby PvP names, actually. They should've chosen RP names like "King Jonathan" or "Maximum The Great"!

Obviously Anet were lazy to test builds, so the checked grades @ PvX?..best PvX builds->henchmen builds.
The question is: why we had this contest? they could skip it and just go to PvX...

I'll add in another vote against this update.

I'm in an alliance that's almost totally PvE oriented, and we constantly use the GH to form up, heroes and all. Doing so in an outpost would be a much larger pain in the rump, and it's hard to agree on the final party formation without including who has what heroes, and do those heroes have the right skills available, etc.

Perhaps change the GH to a Nightfall-esque area, where teams would have to talk to an NPC (like, say, the Guild Lord) to enter, and at that time, various checks like 'no heroes' could be done.

I'd also like to see the henchmen either optionally displayed, or all in a general area away from the rest of the NPCs. While they are a neat idea, especially for the winners, they can be rather in the way of where real players are meeting, and trying to use the Merchants, etc.

I think it's really time to have PvP GH's and PvE GH's. I'd say either give each guild one of each (either by districts or separate 'towns' on the battle isle maps), or let the guild leader of each guild choose which type they wish to have, and PvE halls could have a small 'staging area' if they really wanted to GvG or something.

They added another reference to UWSC. The Henchman Fuu Rin (Heroes Ascent):
"Apparently many of my masters other students have recently taken to raiding the treasures of Grenth's realm"

And then she goes on about fighting for the Zaishen would be the better choice... I noticed yet another change to Underworld again, new type of Melee-Spiders and friendly Spawns that turn hostile after a while.

Last sentence is quite disturbing: "Riches from the lord of the Underworld will not come without a price, and it will be a high one."
What is that supposed to mean? Higher Ecto-Prices that's for sure (even if it's panic)

I agree on more PvE-Love for GH.
